BAME Forum at the Houses of Parliament

TfL BAME Chair: Dwayne Smith tells us about their jointly hosted discussion forum with the Parliament BAME group, ParliReach on 30th October, featuring the Right Honorable David Lammy and Floella Benjamin.

Continuing our celebrations of Black History Month, the TfL Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Staff Network collaborated withDSC_4300 - BAME Forum - Houses of Parilament ParliReach on a discussion forum on 30 October in the Houses of Parliament. The forum covered topics including ‘Exploring the progress of Black and Asian communities in the UK’, ‘Ambitions of the next generation’ and ‘Examining support that the Black, Asian Minority Ethnic staff need’.


The panel (from left to right, below) consisted of the Right Honourable David Lammy, DSC_4459 - BAME Fprum - Panel x 4MP for Tottenham, Diane Abbott, MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington, the Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin, and Floella Benjamin, all of whom delivered a really insightful look into the past and present lives of the UK BAME communities.
